Wellness startup Sarva raises funds from music provider Cutting Edge Group



Zorba Renaissance Pvt Ltd, which operates the yoga and mindfulness-focused startup Sarva, has raised funds from international music provider Cutting Edge Group.

As part of this exercise, Sarva will have access to over 20,000 minutes of music and meditation-based content.

This catalog will be delivered through Myndstream, Cutting Edge’s record label, which will also help design and manage musical priorities on the Sarva platform.

The amount of the transaction was not disclosed.

According to its website, the Cutting Edge Group is an independent music publisher, financier and service provider for film and television studios, as well as production houses, game studios and media platforms in line.

The group’s services based in the US and UK also include music brand analysis and royalties.

Sarva was founded in March 2016. The company’s offerings include guided meditation and interactive fitness.

Its digital offerings include programs focused on body and mind. Sarva will soon be launching another category, Nourish.

The Cutting Edge Group’s fundraiser comes just over two months after the company raised capital from cricketer Shikhar Dhawan. At the time, the company said it had raised a cumulative $ 8 million (around Rs 60 crore) over its entire fundraising cycle.

Dhawan invested in Sarva less than two months after venture capital firm Mantra Capital placed a bet on the company. It was the first deal for the US and India-based company since launching its first $ 60 million fund in January.

Prior to that, in December of last year, Sarva raised 20 crore rupees ($ 2.8 million) in its first round of institutional funding in December of last year. The round was led by Fireside Ventures, a consumer-focused venture capital firm.

Last year, Sarva raised an undisclosed amount of funding from a group of investors, including global pop artist Jennifer Lopez and Mark Mastrov, the founder of fitness company 24 Hour Fitness Worldwide Inc.

Other Sarva investors include Bollywood celebrity Malaika Arora and the Patni family, who are also a strategic partner of the company. According to VCCEdgeMosaic Digital’s data research arm Zorba Renaissance reported net sales of Rs 12.95 crore for the fiscal year ended March 2019.
