Talented East London singer artist Megan Francis continues to wow crowds with her incredible voice.
Francis is a talented singer who entertained crowds on cruise ships for 3.5 years before returning to East London.
“I sang on a boat in addition to being part of the cruise choir. I was also involved in the entertainment team to make sure the shows were up and running, ”she said.
Since her return, she has been MC at several local events, as well as a guest singer at a recent vacation club showcase (“Dance club stays in step”, July 6).
Coming home has meant a career change and she is currently working as a vocal coach at the Legends School of Contemporary Music in Baysville.
“My career has been geared towards developing musical talent and I particularly like working with young artists,” she said.
She added that watching young artists grow up was amazing and she encouraged them to “use the resources of East London”.
Francis also participated in his solo cabaret show A song for you, which was part of the program of the Umtiza Arts Festival this year.
“I’m relaunching this show with the goal of taking it across the country and would like it to be part of the National Arts Festival next year,” said Francis.
This busy lady is also part of the Off Broadway musical production called I love you, you are perfect, now change taking place in September at the Guild Theater.
His advice to all aspiring musicians is to find someone in the area and get help with their craft.
“They should network and not be isolated. The African continent is so rich and they should be inspired by it, ”she said.
